BEDP is committed to the vision - that we be recognised as the nation's most effective advocate for the built environment, by achieving significant influence in the political, business and educational arenas.
This is reflected in the organisations logo - BEDP Built Environment Australia. Not only does the logo tell our stakeholders who we are, it also defines our role within the Australian urban fabric.
BEDP--Built Environment Australia is emerging as a major coalition builder, working with other individuals and associations to improve the quality and sustainability of the built environment. We have made many significant achievements as an organisation over the past year and our Board is committed to steering BEDP toward the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
My focus as Chairman is the enhancement of our strategic focus and promoting BEDP's objectives through expanding our advocacy programs. The BEDP Board of Directors has developed and adopted a three-year strategic plan to help guide our future efforts. We also defined our goals to achieve results in the following six areas:
Advocacy with Government
Government and the Built Environment
Sustainable Communities
Built Environment Research
Procurement of Professional Services
Insurance and Risk
We can achieve measurable outcomes for the built environment and therefore for our constituent organisations. As an organisation we are committed and energised as a result of developing the strategic plan and is already working towards strengthening BEDP's governance and infrastructure.
